| Description: | Join your colleagues for this happy hour brimming with not only ethical and professionalism dilemmas, but also drinks and appetizers. It is set for March 23rd, from 4:30 - 7 p.m. at Five Seasons Brewery Westside Atlanta. (Note: We’ll be in the Cellar, which is detached from the restaurant.*) It's approved for 2 CLE Hours, including 1 Ethics and 1 Professionalism. This year the GDLA Education Committee presents Overruled. Four attorney contestants will be put to the test on ethical and professionalism dilemmas in three rounds. After each round covering a different area of issues, the competition judges will eliminate one contestant by declaring them “overruled.” The final remaining contestant will be “sustained” and declared our winner. We will be joined by numerous guests including among others, returning competition judges Fulton Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney and State Bar General Counsel Paula Frederick and attorney participants including Brian Johnson of Drew Eckl & Farnham and Jimmy Scarborough of Mabry McLelland, It’s always an entertaining way to earn those elusive ethics and professionalism hours before the March 31st CLE deadline. The seminar will run from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. but come at 4:30 p.m. to network and enjoy appetizers/drinks, then stay afterward and socialize with your colleagues and friends. Registration fee includes CLE credits, two drink tickets & appetizers:
*The brewery is located at 1000 Marietta St. If you park on the roof deck (on the left looking at Five Seasons), take the elevator to the first floor. We'll be in the Cellar, an event space that's detached from the restaurant/brewery. If you park in the surface lot (on the right looking at Five Seasons), you’re already on the level where the Cellar event space is located. **Non-Members who apply for GDLA membership concurrently with their CLE registration can pay the Members Rate. Dues are half-price through March 31st ($62.50 for those admitted to their first bar after July 2, 2011, and $100 for those admitted before that). |
