| Description: | "2025 Tort Reform Ramifications on Motions Practice, Trial and Appellate Strategy” will feature a panel of GDLA trial and appellate lawyers breaking down and discussing the specifics of Governor Kemp’s recent tort reform package. Topics will include the nuances of bifurcation, limitations on anchoring, and changes in pleadings practice (including dismissals), including practical advice from GDLA members who have tried cases or fought motions battles under the new rules. Zach Matthews, McMickle Kurey & Branch, Alpharetta, will moderate the discussion. Panelists include: Jonathan Adelman, Waldon Adelman Castilla McNamara & Prout, Atlanta; President-Elect Marty Levinson, Hawkins Parnell & Young, Atlanta; and Past President Pamela Lee, Swift Currie McGhee & Hiers, Atlanta. Thanks also goes to VP Candis Jones Smith, Lewis Brisbois, Atlanta, for her help in planning the CLE. We’ll be in Conference Room A for the seminar from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. It is approved for 2.0 CLE hours, including 2.0 trial hours. The CLE registration fee is $50.00 for GDLA Members (members' only event). Eligible non-members who apply for membership can register to attend. |
